Fall finally came and it was time to go back to school. Sam started 1st Grade and went full-day for the first time. 9-3:30 (plus a bus ride) is a long day, but he loves it!
Waiting for the bus with some of his best buddies, Anderson & Grant.
The biker gang that insists on accompanying us. I didn't take a picture of it, but there is a big hill on the other side of the bus stop corner. Eli is a maniac coasting down that thing. The other parents and kids now know to GET OUT OF THE WAY when Eli is coming down the hill.
The bus stop crew
So look who moved up to a toddler bed! In hindsight, we should have left him in there for a few more months. None of us have gotten a good night sleep since he discovered he can get out of his bed to play trains or escape his room. Most naps are spent on the floor.
The second week of September, Austin started preschool with Miss Carolyn at My Friends Preschool. Once again, I was foiled in my attempt for a nice "back to school" doorstep photo. (See September 2013 for Exhibit A.) Austin opted for the GQ look. I think he has "blue steel" down pretty well, don't you?
My little buddy. We run errands and play cars while his brothers are at school. He misses them dreadfully. Every time I drop off Austin he says, "I go school Mom? E-I's Pack-pack??" Soon kiddo!
I tried one more time. Should have known better. He loves preschool though!
Still in denial that we have a 7 year old. Here are his stats: 42 lbs (6%), 3' 11" (30%). He was so mad he missed 4 feet by 1 inch! Sam is turning into an awesome big kid. I asked him some Birthday Interview questions, and here are his answers:

So there you go. Sam in a nutshell. He has become a total sports fanatic and made his Dad's dream come true.
We are alternating years with friend birthday parties, so this year we are doing family parties. To make up for the lack of friends, we let them pick anywhere they want to go. Sam chose Chuck-E-Cheese.
Best buddies
Sam still got a "Birthday Kid" sticker and had a blast. Here he is dancing with Chuckie Cheese.
With the big man himself.
Eli is almost old enough to play the games there. Almost.
Selfie of our lunch. Sorry I didn't get you in the photo Eli.
How many Walker boys can we fit on one game?
Grandma Susan stopped by to join the fun!
Ski-Ball skills
The spoils of war
SEVEN!!???!!!
Dad & Grandma Susan and what was left of our cake.
Eli was secretly an early bird all this time and we had no idea. Now that he can get out of his bed, he is always up early enough to have breakfast with Ryan.
Little stinker. He waits until he hears the alarm go off and then strolls into our room.
"Hi Mom! I Awake Mom. I awake."
He is pretty cute though. 2 1/2 is a fun age. Here are some of our favorite Eli sayings/songs:
"Fowow me! Fowow me Mom!"
"Siberman, Siberman...."
"We will we will ROCK YOU"
"We are the Champions"
"Right in to the DANGER ZONE!"
"No! MY turn!" (When he wants to do something himself)
"I wub you"
"Yes." (Not ya or yeah. Yes.)
"Carry you?" (Which really means, carry me!)
We love taking family walks on Sunday mornings before church. One Sunday, we decided to be adventurous and go on a long walk through Lacamas Park. It was beautiful and a great place to talk about all the wonderful things God has made for us.
See you in October!!
