May 2016

Up until this point, we were all slightly in denial about the big move.
Reality hit with the "Sold" sign in front of our house.

Sappy as it sounds, we tried to make the most of the last two weeks and visited many of our favorite places.  The nostalgia would even hit as we were driving around town so sometimes I would snap pictures of my favorite roads.  (Don't worry, Ryan was driving not me.)

One last family walk on the Lacamas Heritage Trail.

One last hurrah at Helen Baller Elementary with the Annual Baller Blast!

One last party with some of our dear Camas friends family.  We will miss them terribly!

One last family playdate with the Baloghs.  Most of my picture attempts turned out like this.

And this.

But we did manage to get one decent shot :)

One last goodbye to another of our favorite families, the Campbells!

The bright spot in the whole moving process was having professional packers and movers.  In less than one day our entire house was packed.

The boys thought it was pretty awesome to have their bunk beds taken apart.  Who needs a trampoline when you have beds this close together?

Peek!  It was fun to explore all the empty cabinets.

Goodbye Ms. Carolyn!  Austin had an amazing year of preschool at My Friends Preschool.

Goodbye to our some of our favorite babysitters, the Fangs!

All too soon it was the BIG DAY.  The boys had a super fun day with not one (@ the Houstons), not two (@ the Moses'), but THREE (@ the Lymans) playdates while the movers loaded the truck and we cleaned out the house.

Goodbye Nile the Crocodile!

Goodbye Kitchen!

Goodbye climbing tree!

Loading the truck...

All packed up!

Goodbye Camas House!!!

And HELLO new Bend House!  Our moving truck didn't arrive until the next morning so we spent the night in a hotel.  We were all exhausted after a long day of cleaning and driving and emotions.

Our new home looked like this for the next week as we tried to get everything put away.

The fun thing about moving is sometimes you stumble on gems like this.  I laughed so hard when I found this in Sam's stack of papers.  Clearly it had been a stressful few months of keeping the house spotless and getting ready to move.

Dad's is pretty great too.

Funny enough, one of the first things I did was find the library.  Nothing makes me feel more at home in a new place like having a library card!

We couldn't wait to try out the new oven.
It is fun to have a clear window and actually see what is baking!

AHHH....a quiet street perfect for riding bikes and not a rain cloud in sight.  The boys were in heaven!

Not long after we moved in, we had our first visitors!  Grandma Susan & Grandpa Jeff stopped by and together we explored Smith Rock a little bit more.

Next we explored the nearby town of Sisters, OR.

The boys gave the donuts their seal of approval.

A library card was at the top of my priority list, but for Ryan it was a Fishing License!
We were thrilled to find a pond close to our house that is regularly stocked with trout and perfect for our little fishermen.  Three fish for three boys.

We are feeling right at home already!
