Spring Fever

Get ready for a typical Walker picture dump :)

We love spring in the NW.  In April we go from sporting our winter rain gear...
(While kayaking at the coast! Awesome!!!)

...to breaking out our shorts and Washington-White legs!
(...and sometimes back again to winter rain gear, but we don't like to think about that...)

Look who is living up to the family name! Eli turned 13 months old in April and learned how to walk!

Some videos of Eli learning to walk!

Now I get to have a little buddy follow me around all day.

One of his favorite things to do is watch the neighborhood kids get on the bus.

Spring fever hit us all hard and we jump at any chance to get outside.  Every morning, Sam makes me check the weather report.  "Can we go ride bikes TODAY??!!"

Austin has become a little speed demon on his balance bike.
He is almost ready to move up to Sam's old bike and learn to pedal!

This month we were able to take a mini-vacation to Seattle!  Ryan's cousin was getting married so we packed up the van and made it a trip.  Our first day we hung out in downtown Seattle.  The kids loved the Pacific Science Center.

Eli was a little bored in the stroller.

The kids really liked the dinosaur exhibit. They wanted to lay in the footprint all day!

Put your shoulder to the wheel, push along...

We stayed there all morning and into the afternoon.  This is how you know it is time for lunch...

...also this face.  This is my "turn off that camera right now and get me lunch and no one gets hurt" face.

After a yummy late lunch our blood sugar picked right back up.
Amazing what the 20 minute miracle can do!

Both Sam and Austin have been asking to go to the Space Needle since our last trip to Seattle.  They were really excited!

While we waited for our turn to ride to the top, Austin ran around and enjoyed the sunny day.

Sam did a little performing for us.

And Eli finally gave up and took a nap in the sun.

Eventually we made it up the elevators and took our obligatory photo op.  This is the best we could do.

From way up on the Space Needle, we spotted this amazing fountain.  We didn't really have any other plans for the day so we found our way over to the fountain.

At first we just watched safely from the sidelines and ate our treats.

Pretty soon Sam and Austin were begging to go and run around with the other kids.

It wasn't long until Sam looked like this:

The highlight of Eli's day was discovering the baby in the mirror at the hotel room.

It's the simple things. :)

Finally it was time for the big day!  And we were really late.  I blame the GPS for leading us in circles.  We did get to enjoy most of the wedding though.  Here is the happy couple, Kyle & Jennifer.  Aren't they cute?!

My hunky husband and Eli.

Austin's favorite part was the wedding cake.

The beautiful park where they got married.  It was stunning!

Finally it was time to drive home.  On our way, we stopped at the Tulip Festival in Woodland.  It has been on my NW bucket list since we moved here.  Ryan and I were excited to see all the flowers.  The kids were most excited by the honey sticks.

Thanks to those magical honey sticks, they tolerated the many pictures we took in the flower fields.

For future note, the best way to get your little boys excited about all those flowers is to point out the different "superhero" flowers.  Behind Eli's stroller are the Superman tulips.  They are bigger than all the others and bright red.  Next to Sam below are The Flash tulips.  They are red and yellow, just like The Flash.

And of course, here are the Batman tulips.

Springtime also means T-ball!  Sam's first T-Ball game was nice and sunny.

Here is Sam's first time at bat.

Go Sammy go!

When Easter rolled around, we were ready!  Ryan helped the big boys color eggs.

Easter morning the boys woke us up bright and early.  We did not plan our matching neon green outfits.

Then they ran outside to see what the Easter bunny brought for them.

Eli's first basket!

Eli's first Easter egg.  He found a plastic one with jelly beans that rattled inside.  He stayed right there for a while shaking the egg.

Sam's loot.  He is an expert egg finder.

Austin is pretty good too!  The Easter bunny will have to be more tricky next year.

After breakfast we headed to church, had a great dinner, and an Easter FHE lesson.
All in all, it was a very Happy Easter.

Enjoy Spring!
