August: Slip N Slide, Ward Campout, & Everyday Fun

 It is hard to look at these pictures in October.  August was full of beautiful Pacific Northwest summer weather.  Sunny days, warm temperatures, and lots of fun outdoor activities!

One hot Saturday, Ryan stopped by Walgreens and picked up this beauty:

Ryan showed us how it was done.

Sam liked the slip n slide, but he did not love the sprinkler feature.  He demanded we turn off the hose/sprinklers before he slid down.  So, Ryan basically had to throw him across a few times.  Maybe next year he will like it more?

 We also were able to attend the Walnut Grove Ward Campout in August!  It was our first time camping as a family, and it actually went really well!  The kids slept for most of the night and no one got lost :)

Sam LOVES camping.  He still talks about it two months later.  He loves the s'mores, the tent, his sleeping bag, EVERYTHING!  I foresee lots of camping in our future. 

The next morning, there were some fun games for the kids.  Sam learned how to rope a sheep!

In August, Austin turned 8 months old.  He started army-crawling and using his mad rolling skills to get where he wants.  Now nothing is safe from Austin!

One day, we made chocolate chip cookies...everyone's favorite!  Austin sat in his high chair

and Sam was my big helper!

This month Sam discovered who Superman is.  We improvised a cape and he would fly around the backyard.      Note the diapers...they are about to disappear forever!
